Men can have gender-rooted negative experiences, yes. Men who work in childcare, for example, often experience prejudice. But prejudice against men as a gender is always rooted in femmephobia - that is, in fear of traits, practices, or experiences traditionally assigned to women.
Women are hated for being women. Men are hated when they act like women.
THIS is why women, and not men, experience sexism. Not because men don’t have shitty gender-related experiences. They do. But their shitty gender-related experiences are rooted in a societal fear, hatred, or disgust of women, and that cannot be ignored, forgotten, or minimized in our work toward eliminating discrimination and prejudice against all genders.

We accept all girls in kindergarten through 12th grade as members. If a child identifies as a girl and the child’s family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout. If a child is living as a girl, that’s good enough for us. We don’t require any proof of gender.
